Orioles-Astros Series Preview

The Orioles are coming off a 4-4 home-stand after Sunday’s 9-5 Loss to the Tampa Bay Rays in which the O’s slammed 4 homers in a losing effort highlighted by 2 home runs each by Delmon Young who gave the Orioles a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning and a game-tying homer in the 3rd to tie the game at 2 and Manny Machado who jacked a 2-run homer in the 7th to cut the deficit to 7-4 and a 9th inning shot accounted for the last run the O’s would score in a 9-5 defeat.

The Orioles(23-26) now head to Minute Maid Park in Houston to face the Astros(31-20) who they just defeated at Camden Yards taking 2 out of 3 from the Astros with a 5-4 decision in the series finale last Wednesday night.

Houston currently leads the AL west by 4.5 games over the Angels and have just come off losing 2 out of 3 to a struggling White Sox club and are currently 4-6 in their last ten games.

This series is the beginning of a 7 game road trip which includes 4 in Houston and 3 in Cleveland against the Indians.
