It’s official. Former Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman will now be wearing the burgundy and gold, bolstering a Redskins defense that is now a force to be reckoned with.
The Redskins have signed Norman to a 5-year deal worth $75 Million. Just as we suspected, Washington had to open up their checkbooks for Norman and only time will tell if he was worth it. The deal also includes $50 Million guaranteed (typical).
Norman will have the opportunity to line up against Odell Bechham Jr. twice (these two have a history) along with Dez Bryant.
Norman automatically joins the Redskins as the top cornerback on the depth chart and can help anchor the secondary that has been burned by the big pass play consistently.
With the development of Breeland, the Redskins have the cornerbacks that can prevent above average quarterback’s from tearing up the pass defense.
Look for this Redskins defense to improve big time with the arrival of one of the best cornerbacks in the game last season.
