High school athletes always have something to look forward to each week whether it’s a marquee game on the schedule or just simply playing their beloved sport.

But what about the people and classmates they perform for?

Well, now you do. Starting this week, Maryland Sports Access will award a Student Section of the Week to the most spirited and creative high school student section in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

All entrants must send in their nomination by 10:00 pm every Saturday. Our crew at MSA will then determine the most boisterous student section and announce the winning school every Sunday via Twitter.

Here’s how to get nominated for the fall season:

NOTE: Fall sports include cross country, field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball, and even … golf

  1. Tweet a picture (or multiple pictures) and/or video of the student section with the hashtag #MSAStudentSectionOfTheWeek. Feel free to tag us (@MDSportsAccess) in your tweets as well. You can also send your nomination to marylandsportsaccess@gmail.com
  2. Make sure to name your theme, and if it’s a special occurrence, state the reason behind it
  3. Keep it clean and get creative, we want to know who has the BEST student section in the state of Maryland and D.C.

The winning school will get a shoutout on Twitter and have a feature story the following week. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, feel free to send me an email at kfadd32@gmail.com.

Without further ado, let the games begin.
