No. 6 Poly routs No. 21 Dunbar in the Baltimore City boys hoops championship

BALTIMORE – De’Vondre Perry scored 17 points, making five of his 10 shot attempts and five of six from the free throw line, and No. 6 Baltimore Polytechnic Institute routed No. 21 Dunbar 64-53 to take home the Baltimore City boys basketball championship.

DeShaun Mosley added 15 points with five rebounds off the bench for Poly (18-3 overall) and Demetrius Mims had 14 points (6-9 FG) to go along with eight rebounds and three assists as the Engineers win their 13th straight game heading into the playoffs on Friday.

Poly outscored Dunbar (14-7 overall) in the paint, 40-18, as well as shooting a pristine 50% from the floor (23-46 FG) compared to Dunbar’s 30.9% mark (17-55 FG).

Up next for both teams are the MPSSAA playoffs as third seeded Poly (3A) will host Milford Mill on Friday and Dunbar (2A) will await the winner of Patterson and Overlea next Monday.
