After a wild and action-packed Week 1, filled with upsets, come-from-behind victories and triumphs, Week 2 sets up for even more fireworks.
Last week, No. 7 Damascus used Markus Vinson’s 278 yards and three touchdowns to upend No. 8 Quince Orchard, 21-13. Legendary head coach Bob Milloy reached another milestone, picking up elusive win No. 400 in the 23-21 win over Mount St. Joseph. No. 10 Bullis avenged a 14-point fourth quarter deficit in the waning seconds to survive an upset from Pallotti. No. 17 Fort Hill blew out Brunswick, 73-0. MSA bubble team Tuscarora defeated Linganore for the first time in school history and Centennial from Howard County won their first football game in nearly three years.
The second week of September is headlined by the battle for The King’s Trophy of Germantown between No. 9 Northwest and No. 22 Seneca Valley. The Screamin’ Eagles proved triumphant in 2015 (14-7) and will look to regain the prized hardware for the second year in a row. Milloy, who’s in the fourth quarter of his coaching career, will lead No. 3 Good Counsel with WCAC title aspirations into No. 8 Archbishop Spalding on Friday night.

MSA FEATURED GAMES
No. 3 Good Counsel (1-0) at No. 8 Archbishop Spalding (1-0), Friday at 7:00 pm (game story, game stats and live coverage by @TPeace19 will be provided)
Preview: After picking up historic win No. 400 last Saturday, Bob Milloy will lead his Falcons on another ranked opponents turf Friday night looking to continue their push at the WCAC crown. Up-and-coming Archbishop Spalding eyes for the upset, though ranked No. 8 in the MSA power rankings.
NOTABLE GAMES
No. 15 Bishop McNamara (1-1) at No. 2 McDonogh (2-0)
Preview: McDonogh hasn’t had it easy out of the gates, and it doesn’t get much easier over the next few weeks. After wins against then-No. 5 Gonzaga (D.C.) and then-No. 22 Franklin, the Eagles will play their home-opener against No. 15 Bishop McNamara and hope to pick up a win before hosting nationally ranked DeMatha next Friday. Bishop McNamara, meanwhile, will look to bounce back from their 37-35 loss to Virginia power Woodberry Forest.
No. 5 St. John’s (D.C., 2-0) at St. Joseph Regional (N.J., 1-0)
Preview: St. John’s looks to continue their scorching start behind University of Maryland commit, quarterback Kasim Hill. The Cadets will travel to St. Joseph Regional on Saturday afternoon and take on the top-ranked team in New Jersey, according to MaxPreps.
No. 12 Riverdale Baptist (1-1) at Douglass-PG (0-1, MSA bubble team)
No. 17 Fort Hill (1-0) at Keyser (W.Va., 2-0)
Preview: Fort Hill rarely loses in the regular season, thanks to head coach Todd Appel and help from a lenient schedule. But if the Sentinels want to make a push at an undefeated, state championship season, they’ll need to get by the team who handed them their lone loss last year — Keyser (48-41 in 2015).
Clarksburg (1-0) at No. 23 Sherwood (1-0)
