NOTES: Dee Barnes recorded a double-double for KCA (21 points and 10 rebounds). D’Angelo Tull had a game-high 22 points. KCA will play Walkersville on Wednesday at 5:00 pm for the Bracket 4 championship.
11:45 am — Walkersville 54, Delmar 42
NOTES: Kyle Daggett knocked down 1o of his 12 free throws to lead Walkersville with 16 points and seven rebounds. Josh Polce added 11 points off the bench for the Lions. Brooks Parker had a game-high 21 points (9-for-16 shooting) and nine rebounds for Delmar. The Lions outscored Delmar, 30-19, in the second half and will play Kings Christian Academy at 5:00 pm on Wednesday for the Bracket 4 championship.
11:45 am — Milford Mill 64, Parkside (RV) 58
NOTES: Ugo Obasi charged the Millers with 23 points on 8 of 14 shooting. Milford Mill jumped out to a 24-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and held on down the stretch when Parkside pulled to within four to advance to the Bracket 2 championship on Wednesday at 11:45 am.
12:15 pm — Kempsville (Va.) 60, Douglass-Baltimore (RV) 50
NOTES: A seven-point third quarter doomed the Ducks, who have now lost three straight after being ranked in the MSA Top-25. Dyrell Turner paced Douglass with a double-double (16 points and 13 rebounds). Malik Holloway had a double-double as well, notching 14 points (8 of 13 from the free throw line) and pulling down 10 rebounds.
1:30 pm — C.H. Flowers 90, Paint Branch 79
NOTES: A 30-point first quarter and a 37-point third quarter surged C.H. Flowers past Paint Branch, 90-79. The Jaguars had six players in double figures with Demarcus Demonia (16 points and six rebounds) leading the charge. Xavier Reaves paced the Panthers with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting.
2:00 pm — McDonogh 66, Walt Whitman 53 (girls)
NOTES: In a matchup between two 6-0 teams, McDonogh rode Kayla Liles’ 18 points and five rebounds and Kolbi Green’s 16 points and six rebounds to best the Vikings, 66-53. The Eagles never trailed and forced 23 turnovers. Olivia Meyers paced Walt Whitman with 17 points and eight rebounds.
3:15 pm — Oakdale (RV) 60, Indian Creek 31
NOTES: With a stifling 3-2 zone, Oakdale forced 21 turnovers and held Indian Creek to 34.4 percent from the floor (11-for-32) to cruise to a 60-31 win. The Bears were led by regular standouts Cory Schlee (14 points and three rebounds) and Sean Jodrie (13 points on 5 of 6 shooting and five rebounds). Schlee and Jodrie both played 17 minutes. Oakdale shot 41.7 percent from deep (5-for-12) had nine players register in the scorebook, including 24 points from their bench. Malik McKinney had 10 points for Indian Creek.
5:00 pm — No. 6 Stephen Decatur 68, Bishop Sullivan (Va.) 52
NOTES: Stephen Decatur, now 7-0, continued their scorching start to the 2016-17 season with a 16-point win over Virginia private Bishop Sullivan. Wofford commit Keve Aluma turned in a double-double with 25 points on 10 of 17 shooting and 11 rebounds. Kevon Voyles produced 20 points on 9 of 16 shooting while grabbing seven rebounds. Gary Briddell added nine points and 11 rebounds. The Seahawks shot 51 percent from the floor (26-for-51) and led by as many as 21 in the third quarter. They’ll take on Potomac (Va.) in what’s said to be their toughest matchup of the year.
