10:00 am — Annapolis Area Christian (RV) 76, J.H. Blake 49

NOTES: Annapolis Area Christian roared to an easy 76-49 win over J.H. Blake in the Session II Bracket 6 semifinal at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. AAC senior guard Brandon Joseph led the way with 14 points and eight rebounds, including three consecutive dunks in the second quarter as the Eagles opened up a 13-point lead after the first quarter. Joseph led a strong interior game for the Eagles, who scored 50 points in the paint and shot 53 percent from the field. Blake senior guard Kobe Colston had one of the better morning performances in Session II, scoring 14 points while adding five rebounds.

10:00 am — J.M. Bennett 63, Surrattsville (RV) 58

10:00 am — Stephen Decatur vs. Dunbar (girls)

12:15 pm — Harford Tech (RV) 67, St. John’s Catholic Prep 52

NOTES: Harford Tech avenged a sluggish start, down 29-28 at halftime on 33.3 percent shooting (10-for-30), to outscore SJCP by 17 in the second half. Harford Tech’s Darrius Dangerfield led all scorers with 27 points (9-for-21 shooting). Jordan Bright added 10 points for the Cobras, who shot 42.4 percent in the second half. Christopher Balcerek notched 10 points and five rebounds for SJCP. Harford Tech scored 35 points off 31 turnovers, getting eight steals from Jawaun Lucas. The Cobras will take on SEED School (D.C.) tomorrow.

1:30 pm — No. 6 John Carroll 48, Sidwell Friends (D.C.) 42

STORY: No. 6 John Carroll rides top recruit Quickley in 48-42 win over Sidwell Friends

1:30 pm — No. 17 Walt Whitman 64, Urbana 60 

NOTES: No. 17 Walt Whitman staved off an Urbana fourth quarter comeback to pull out a 64-60 victory despite having 6-foot-8 center Max Oppenheim sidelined. The Vikings led by 12 going into the fourth and were outscored 24-16 in the final eight minutes. Joey Squeri led Walt Whitman with a game-high 19 points (5 of 11 shooting, 6 of 9 from the stripe) and seven rebounds. Brendan Shaver recorded 15 points (6-for-8 shooting) and Alex Sanson added 14 points and six rebounds. Senior point guard Garrett Drummond (17 points and four steals) and freshman Bryan Bresee (17 points and four rebounds) led Urbana. Walt Whitman shot 44.4 percent from behind the arc (8 of 18) while Urbana struggled, shooting 11.8 percent (2 of 17).

1:30 pm — Linganore vs. Mardela (girls)

NOTES: Linganore thumped Mardela behind a stifling defense that forced 28 turnovers and allowed 11.1 percent (3 of 27) from the floor. Sophia Heitzig snagged four steals for the Lancers. Caroline Ward had a game-high 13 points (5 of 10 shooting) in 19 minutes of action. Jessica Mitchell added 11 points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench. Eleven of Linganore’s 12 players scored at least two points.  

2:00 pm — Oakdale 66, Parkside 16 (girls)

NOTES: Oakdale cruised to a 50-point victory behind a complete team effort. Twelve of the 14 platers registerd into the scorebook for the Bears. Izzy Ouimette, Briana Walker and Annie Gough all had eight points. The Bears shot 51.9 percent (27-for-52) while forcing 24 turnovers and only allowing 19 shots. Fourty four of the Bears’ 66 points came off turnovers.

3:15 pm — No. 11 Bowie 52, Olympic (N.C.) 49

NOTES: Towson commit Quinton Drayton led the Bulldogs to therir sixth win of the season with 18 points, four rebounds and three steals. Bowie shot 39 percent from the floor (16-for-41). 

3:15 pm — No. 14 Dunbar 39, Dover (Del.) 34

NOTES: Dunbar squeaked out a five-point win over Delaware’s Dover behind the double-double outing from DeShawn Phillip (12 points and 13 rebounds). 

3:45 pm — No. 16 Rock Creek Christian 60, Legacy Charter (S.C.) 51

NOTES: Josh Page (16 points, four rebounds and four steals) and John Preston (13 points and five rebounds) charged No. 16 Rock Creek Christian to a nine-point victory over North Carolina private power Legacy Charter. RCCA shot 45 percent from the floor (18-for-40) and held Legacy Charter to 31.6 percent (18-for-57). Georgia commit Nic Claxton finished with 16 points (5 of 14 shooting), nine rebounds and three blocks for Legacy Charter.

5:00 pm — Theodore Roosevelt (D.C.) 82, New Town 55

NOTES: New Town squandered an early 13-0 advantage to lose by 27 to D.C.’s Theodore Roosevelt by 27. From the three minute mark of the first, to the end of the third, the Rough Riders outscored the Titans 73-28. New Town succumbed to Theodore Roosevelt’s full-court press, turning the ball over 27 times. Darrell Collins scored 13 points and Rashad Faust added 10 points and four rebounds, both for New Town.

5:00 pm — Kent County 73, Edmondson-Westside (RV) 70

6:45 pm — Potomac (Va.) 55, No. 6 Stephen Decatur 54 – Overtime

NOTES: The highly touted and state champion-contending Seahawks faltered down the stretch of their tilt with the  2016 VSHL Class 5A state champions Potomac, blowing a nine-point second half lead. Wofford commit Keve Aluma finished with a double-double (15 points and 10 rebounds) and Kevon Voyles had 15 points. Gary Briddell added 13 points and four rebounds, but also had eight turnovers. 

6:45 pm — Aberdeen (RV) 52, No. 20 Linganore 51

NOTES: Myles Douglas’ buzzer-beating 3-pointer lifted the Eagles over Linganore, 52-51. Douglas wound up with 26 points and eight rebounds.
