Mount St. Mary’s locks down St. Francis for fifth straight win

Junior Robinson scored 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting and Mount St. Mary’s held off St. Francis Brooklyn 55-47 on Saturday.

Elijah Long posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Mount St. Mary’s (9-12, 7-1 Northeast Conference), which has won five straight games. The Mountaineers stifled the Terriers defensively, holding them to 31.1 percent shooting and 5 of 19 from 3-point land.

It’s the second consecutive game and fourth time this year St. Francis has been held below 50 points.

Mount St. Mary’s led by six at halftime and lengthened it to nine on a Robinson 3-ball 11 seconds into the second half.

Miles Wilson added nine points and five rebounds while Chris Wray contributed with five points and nine rebounds.
