GERMANTOWN — The Maryland Sports Access high school football preseason tour continued on Tuesday as we visited the campus of Northwest High School to watch the Jaguars practice.
Northwest is coming off a 7-4 season in which they lost to Richard Montgomery in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs, 28-13. For the first time since 2011, the Jaguars failed to win at least one playoff game in a season, and look to rebound after a relatively down year. Northwest returns 15 of 22 starters (eight on offense and seven on defense), including quarterback Chris Craddock, wide receiver Alphonso Foray, lineman Niko Berns and defensive end DeAndre Jules.
Below, Jaguars coach Michael Neubeiser talks about his early impressions, what to expect on offense and defense, the keys to a rebound year and more.
Jules, who has seven Power-5 offers, and Craddock discuss their respective offseasons and the upcoming football season as well.
Be on the lookout for more one-on-one interviews and in-depth previews as the season approaches.
