After a relatively inauspicious Week 1, we hope Week 2 brings more tightly contests and fireworks.
There are four Top 25 matchups and a host of other intriguing matchups, and fortunately for you, MSA is on the job.
Our Game of the Week pits a Montgomery County showdown between No. 8 Damascus and No. 24 Sherwood. Dynamic quarterback Michael Mbony and the Warriors travel to Damascus, where the Swarmin’ Hornets haven’t lost since 2013. In addition, Damascus has won 42 of its last 43 games, including 29 straight. It all goes on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately, I’m out of town this weekend covering the NASCAR race in Richmond, Va. So follow Andy Coreas and Evan Engelhard for game updates.
Weβll also have reporters at the following contests on Friday: Kyle Parsons covers a top-25 matchup in No. 10 Good Counsel and No. 23 Mount St. Joseph. Joe Schiller will be over in Reisterstown for No. 2 DeMatha and No. 21 Franklin. Brooks Warren covers an intriguing contest between No. 3 Wise and No. 14 Calvert Hall. In addition, Ben Spector will be at No. 13 Walkersville and Liberty.
