Our Game of the Week last Friday didn’t live up to the hype as No. 1 DeMatha used a 21-point second quarter to roll past previous No. 2 McDonogh, 49-28.
This week, Tuscarora and Thomas Johnson square off in our fifth Game of the Week in the 2016 season. Even though both teams are unranked in the MSA Power Rankings, Tuscarora checks in at No. 25 in the state media poll. The Patriots-Titans matchup is also the second of three games in The Frederick Spires Football Championship series. Tuscarora defeated Frederick last week, 68-12, in the first game of the series, and a win on Friday night will claim their third straight Frederick Spires Football Championship series.
On Saturday, we’re also covering No. 2 Good Counsel at No. 4 St. John’s (D.C.) and Capitol Christian Academy at No. 11 Mount St. Joseph.
