Baltimore Orioles prospect notebook: Josh Hart

With their first round CBA** pick in the 2013 MLB Draft, the Baltimore Orioles selected outfielder Josh Hart out of Parkview (Georgia) High School.

During the 2015 season with the Frederick Keys (Class-A+ affiliate), Hart posted a .255 batting average on the season. For most of the year, Hart was batting from the lead-off spot in the lineup due in large part to his .282 on-base percentage.

Adding to his standout top-of-the-order productivity, Hart finished fourth in the Carolina League in the stolen base category with 30. His speed around the base-path’s translates to the outfield, allowing him to cover a lot of ground quickly in center field.

Be on the look out for Hart in 2016 as a viable asset in the Orioles farm system — he projects to start this season with the Frederick Keys (A+) and, if his mold progresses, he could see a taste of Double-A ball in Bowie by the end of the year.
